Givskud Zoo

Givskud Zoo is a combined safari park and zoo. The area covers 60 hectares, where you will meet more than 1000 animals from all over the world.

It is a very beautiful and well-maintained park. Feel free to set aside a whole day. The trip takes about 1 hour from Henne Strand Resort.

Ribe – historic and cozy

Ribe – Denmark's oldest city was founded around the year 700, when traders from near and far came to the Viking trading post. Today, they come to experience the atmosphere in the historic streets.

Ribe is a beautiful town with its well-preserved cobblestone streets, Ribe Cathedral from the 1100th century, and the town's dramatic stories. The trip takes about 1 hour from Henne Strand Resort.

Ringkøbing

Ringkøbing's old town center with the square and the church is incredibly beautiful and well preserved. Everything in the town has been carefully restored, and much is being done to preserve old Ringkøbing. The guards go on their rounds at 21.00:1 PM every evening during the summer. A wonderful drive with The Danish North Sea on one side and Ringkøbing Fjord on the other. In the southern part of the fjord lies Tipperne. So bring your binoculars and visit the bird sanctuary, which is an extremely important sanctuary for migratory birds that come here and provision on their long journey to Scandinavia. Blåvand – Denmark's westernmost point

At the westernmost point of Jutland lies the tourist town of Blåvand, which offers countless wonderful experiences for both young and old. Here you can enjoy the beautiful nature to the sound of the waves crashing on the beach or visit one of the town's many shops if you feel like shopping. Blåvand has many exciting stories and relics from the Second World War, which can be experienced at the Tirpitz Bunker Museum. Blåvand is undoubtedly worth a visit. Tirpitz Museum

 

Tirpitz – museum experiences in spectacular surroundings

Tirpitz was created by the Danish architectural firm BIG with a spectacular setting for an attraction hidden under the sand in the protected dune landscape at Blåvand. The site contains 4 permanent exhibitions.

The gold of the sea - Western Europe's most beautiful exhibition about the gold of the Nordics - amber.

The Tirpitz bunker - lies like a colossus in the sand. Entrance to the bunker is through an underground exhibition tunnel.

An army of concrete - In a landscape of bunkers, you will explore the West Coast's many different stories from World War II.

The hidden west coast - 20.000 years of west coast history told through surprising, dramatic, interesting, gripping and eerie tales.

The permanent exhibitions are regularly supplemented by special exhibitions with different themes.

FLUGT is a museum that tells human stories of being on the run. You will hear the story of the largest refugee influx Denmark has ever received. And you will meet the refugees who have come to the country in recent times.

FLUGT conveys the stories of individual people. You will join us on a journey across time and place, where you will meet people who have had to depart from everything they knew and loved.

World-renowned BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group has designed FLUGT, based on the history of the area. In the refugee camp hospital, the architects have created a brand new museum with eight large exhibition rooms.
